There are many ways you can discover the signs of rodent activity to check for, especially when using one of our black lights. Here are a few: Look for any sign of burrows or other potential living quarters. Any sight of live and dead rodents Animal and rat feces (animal droppings) are easy to see with our black lights.
Mice and rat runways are easy to see since they urinate in transit, the UV lights illuminate this very well. Any type urine stains once again use our black lights for this. Watch for reactions of dogs and cats since they have better sensory perception then humans. Use our lights to check for damage to your stock, we have large units SUPERTAC-395 and ZOOMTAC-395 which has a long throw.
The UV black lights is an industrial grade design with durability. It is solid state design and is engineered to last. Because this UV light has a higher grade LED, it has a better contrast and visibility then than other LED black lights. This LED black light shows the tiniest amount of urine with a greater visibility than other LED black lights. This increases your ability to detect the mammal urine, mammal bodily fluids, and the presence of scorpions with ease.
Rodent detection: The urine of many animals, including cats and rodents will fluoresce under our UV. Ultraviolet light itself is invisible to the human eye, but can cause materials such as rodent urine and other organic materials to visibly fluoresce. For sanitation purposes, it is necessary to identify rodent presence in many areas such as the food industry, where you need to inspection from the large industrial plant to the small retail outlet, everywhere the food goes. This is especially true in older establishments where construction and/or location make it more difficult to discover rodent activity. To inspect for rodent presence, just illuminate the area in question with one of our UV lights. Dry rodent urine glows a blue-white if fresh to a yellow-white if old. Rodent hair glows blue-white and is easily identified on sacks or intermixed with food grains.
If using the 395 NM type of black lights then it is suggested to get the safety glasses. These help filter out the visible light noise. Risk Reactor Inc.'s safety glasses also protect the eyes from direct and indirect ultra violet energy. The different colors enhance what you are seeing. The enhancements and colors will be dependent on the actual items being inspected.

These 365 nano meter UV lights offer a different view of the same area. Various compounds fluoresce at different wavelengths. These same compounds will change color over time. Using both and using the different the UV glasses, allows you to see not only items that glow but also see stains in reverse. Materials absorb different wavelengths and these UV lights will expose those differences if even the compound does not fluoresce.
